Join Carol Metzker, a frequent speaker/educator/community outreach liaison, writer, humanitarian and activist, to hear about how she is using an appreciative approach to address social justice.

She will share stories of her work with survivors of human trafficking and with a local Sheriff’s office building relationships between law enforcement and fearful communities.

About Carol Metzker

Since an unexpected encounter with children who survived slavery, Carol Metzker has used her experience and skills as a frequent speaker/educator/community outreach liaison, writer, humanitarian and activist to address needs for social change.

She is an ally for survivors of human trafficking locally and overseas, TEDx presenter, author of Facing the Monster: How One Person Can Fight Child Slavery and co-author of A Shield Against the Monster: Protecting Children from Human Trafficking with sex-trafficking survivor Ann Marie Jones. She has spoken about the subject in England, South Korea, Australia, Canada and Nepal, as well as throughout the United States. She serves as a certified sound therapist, helping women who have survived trauma to reclaim wellness.

Carol also currently works in community outreach at the Chester County (PA, USA) Sheriff’s Office. Co-author with Tojo Thatchenkery of Appreciative Intelligence: Seeing the Mighty Oak in the Acorn, she uses an appreciative approach to help build bridges in the community.

She is the recipient of several human rights/humanitarian awards including Rotary International’s highest honor, “Service Above Self.”
