EXPLORING RELATIONAL THEORY AND PRACTICES:
A Taos Institute Online Course – Fall 2017

Relational theory now provides cutting edge ideas relevant to practices across the professions. The major theoretical shift is from the traditional focus on individuals to the relational processes that are co-produced. This 6-week online course introduces common premises and orienting ideas central to relational theory. The course consists of six modules with online conference meetings, readings, videos and online dialogues.

There will be six “live” conference calls for this course held on Mondays from 3:00 PM- 4:30 PM New York time/eastern US time.

On the first call the conceptual framework of relational theory will be developed. This will be followed by five additional conference calls to explore the material from each module. During the week, participants will be asked to do the weekly reading, watch relevant videos, and connect with their inquiry partner/s for that week. Participants should plan to devote at least 5 hours each week on this course.

Weekly live calls, readings, videos, activities, learning partner conversations, online learning platform with weekly commenting.

Week 3 – Mon. Nov. 20 – Module 3: Multi-being: Ourselves with Others
Week 4 – Mon. Nov 27 – Module 4: Dialogue: In Theory and Practice
Week 5 – Mon. Dec. 4 – Module 5: Putting Relational Theory to Work
Week 6 – Mon. Dec. 11 – Module 6: Relational Ethics in Action
